Subject: Erroneous
Subject: Erroneous
On a very cursory glance at the contents, it is very easily seen that the text has been written by some South Asian natives (possibly of Travancore) who
...
presumably had very brief information on some very critical elements that has been mentioned in the book.
The words 'Hunter, William Wilson, Sir, 1840-1900; Great Britain. India Office' pointing to who did the editing of the text can in itself be significant.
The book is seen mentioned as published in 1908. That is around eight years after the demise of the 'editor'.
This book can be a testimony of the messy understanding that the peoples in Great Britain and England had about South Asia, British-India and the independent kingdoms neighbouring British-India.
And about the ingenious techniques used by the native officials to deceive the English administration into fallacious information on the historical events that led to the creation of a nation called India by the English East India Company.
It might be a disingenuous piece of writing that might claim to be a historical record.
