in the past 24 hours, a front has passed a crossed eastern iowa and it's now over the eastern great lakes states. we had high pressure building in and and that certainly did clear out the skies and bring sunshine. while the temperatures were cooler today, the breeders -- readings were still above normal. as we go to the radar, there is no rain to be found along eastern iowa. we have a dry weather pattern and that will last through the rest of the week. 72 in cedar rapids and dubuque. waterloo had 71. up near the border, temperatures were in the upper 60s this afternoon. the normal high is 60-61 and we were still 10-12 degrees above that today. now that the sun is setting out there, temperatures are cooling off in the dry air and readings are in the mid to upper 60s. there are clouds trying to show up in most of these are just high, thin clouds. they will increase in the skies next front take shape out to the west of us. that will come across tomorrow night. as we go to the predictor, you will notice that as we go through the nighttime hours that after midnight there will be some showers -

an eastern iowa chplain who died finally honored this week. kwwl's shirley descorbeth explains how father al schmitt (nats) it's a special memorial mass -- fit for a pearl harbor respects to father al schmitt of st. lucas, iowa. he died in 1941...along with 428 other crew members when the uss oklahoma was attacked. "he held back and helped others to escape the sinking recently, the navy identified father al's remains. and now -- 75-7ears after his death...family members and other military servicemen fill the pews to honor him...including his niece rose foley. now, we're hearing that clowns are being spotted in eastern iowa. here's a look at one found in sightings across town late at night. "i'm not sure just because people scared, or what it is, but its just not funny anymore. reports of these clowns committing any crimes. so they say they aren't necessarily a threat right now --but they'll police in ohio are searching for three suspects who robbed a convenience store wearing masks. authorities say they took all the money from the cash register. one was wearing a clown mask.
