1.

the International Initiative for Vietnam Solidarity
(IIVS) , a pro-North Vietnamese antiwar organization in
West Germany, sponsored a series of "Indochina Hearings"
throughout West Germany from 19-30 October 1971. At
that time American soldiers and Vietnamese were to
present their views on the Vietnam War.

■h

2. We have received no information that American
soldiers took part in these activities but two Americans
did participate in the "hearings" in Hamburg on 22 October.
One was Mary KAUFMANN (sic) , a lawyer allegedly involved
with the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial. The second American
participant was Amadeo RICHARDSEN, a twenty- three year
old Negro who is studying music in Munich, West Germany.

A women’s delegation from North Vietnam also participated
in the "hearing". The main subject, covered was advocacy
of the establishment of a Provisional Revolutionary
Government of South Vietnam Information Office in West
Germany.

3. RICHARDSEN works closely
with Franic WfcKJUMJBiSTJtsK, a member of the IIVS Executive
Committee, on underground G.I. newspapers and has often
traveled to East Germany on behalf of the West German
Communist Party.

4. We have no additional information on RICHARDSEN.
Comment: Mary KAUFMANN is probably identical w { ith Mary
KAUFMAN, Bureau File 100-1744.'
